Using the Process Calculator to Develop Laser Welding Processes
Did you know that laser welding is one of the fastest growing industrial laser applications?
At least some of the growth comes from the capability of high power, CW and QCW fiber lasers and the ability to precisely control their output in real-time. These laser sources and the capability of SmartRamp™ and SmartShield™ have increased the range of applications for which laser welding is an ideal solution.
To help users of LASERDYNE systems get the most from their processes, we introduced the LASERDYNE Process Calculator. We have also prepared a series of video demonstrations that show how LASERDYNE Applications Engineers use the calculator to develop laser processes.
The focus of this demonstration is laser butt-welding a 3 mm thick Nickel-based superalloy component.
