Prima Power Laserdyne systems with the system 94P computers running Windows XP are upgradeable to the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system.
Microsoft no longer supports the Windows XP operating system. Prima Power Laserdyne has a process to field upgrade systems with the S94P controller from Windows XP to Windows 7. The field upgrade is available for LASERDYNE 430, 450, 790, 795 and 890 systems with the S94P controller.
The upgrade process requires replacing the system computer with a new computer that supports the Windows 7 operating system. It also requires an S94P software upgrade to version 2.4 or higher. Systems with the S94P controller are easily identified on the System control panel (see Figure 1 below).

The operating system is determined through the computer screen in the system control panel. Generally, Windows XP will have the start button as while Windows 7 has the start button as

The steps to confirm the Windows version are: click on the Start Menu -> Settings -> Control Panel -> System. The system information window will identify which version of Windows is running on the computer. Note: In Windows XP, you must first click on the settings file to get to the control panel. Windows 7 will take you directly to the control panel from the start menu. Figure 2 shows the typical Windows XP operating system window and figure 3 shows the Windows 7 operating system window.
